Giving Thanks...Turkey Time with the Bunch...

I want to take this opportunity to Thank you all for being the best you can be and taking the best care of your kiddos, as you can.  I love them to pieces.  They make me smile, laugh, cry, sometimes upset, but mostly PROUD! They are already making strides in their academics and in their social-emotional growth.  I am very humbled by their willingness and eagerness to please me and do their best.

So, Thank You for taking the time to do homework, projects, have talks, and meet me for conferences. I completely understand that life gets in the way but taking time out of your busy schedule for me and "our kiddo" is extremely supportive and appreciated.
I am thankful for MRS. BENSON'S BUNCH OF KIDDOS!

Over the break, please, study the multiplication facts from 0's to 12's.  Our next Model Assessment will be in January and its going to be more detailed and involved.  I'm expecting better scores and bigger smiles when it is finished.

Take a look at what your kiddo is thankful for-
Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy the time off with your beautiful families.  I know I will.

Turkey TIME!!!

Well, it's that time of year! Turkey Day and Parent Teacher Conferences :)  Please take a look in your kiddos backpack to see if your appointment slip is in there.
I handed them out today and need them back ASAP!!!
Thursday is our annual Turkey Feast & Friday is a half day due to conferences as well as Monday and Tuesday.
I have been assigning times tables (written out) for homework because our kiddos need to have them memorized forwards and backwards.  The rest of the year depends on those facts.

Our Turkey in Disguise Projects are SPECTACULAR!!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR TIME AND EFFORT. THE KIDDOS LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM!!!

Wednesday and Thursday we will be having tests on My Rows and Piles of Coins, and Topic 6.
Reading Street tab on this page has the story if you want to listen to it with your kiddo and study up.
At Conferences I will share the results of the Unit 1 Assessment for the NJ Model Curriculum.  We didn't do that bad but are in need of EXTRA practice and support at home. Ill show you the reports so you can see how your kiddo scored.
Hope to see you at your conference we barely get to talk so I would love to sit and chat about your kiddo and how they are doing in school.  As always thank you for your time and support!

Teachers Convention weekend PROJECT!

Disguise a Turkey Family Project!!!

The Benson Family Surfer Dude Turkey :)
This weekend create a silly, cool, crazy turkey disguise to hide your kiddos turkey from the pilgrims(us) to be cooked and eaten on Turkey Day! (Thanksgiving)
Look for the template and directions in your child's book bag Wednesday afternoon. Use any materials you like and paper provided for your turkey disguise.
Make sure to write three reasons why you shouldn't eat the turkey and explain your reasoning.

Be sure to help your kiddo (let them create it, you just help).
Add feathers, cut paper, glitter and other crafty materials to spice it up. If you only have markers or crayons, get creative and draw :)
Most importantly have some fun with your kiddo doing something different.
Hope you all have a great break! See you Monday!
