SMILE AND SAY CHEESY CHEESE :)
Hello Everyone!
Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving :)
On MONDAY, NOV 26th is PICTURE DAY :)
We are also starting Centers a little differently this week so please remind our kiddos they need/have to hand in all classroom assignments by FRIDAY :)
This week we will be reading- Balto, the Dog who Saved Nome.  I will be assigning vocab, a reading selection for the Book Bag, Powerful Vocabulary pages, and introducing Synonyms and Antonyms, as well as forming Predictions.  We will be watching Balto the movie either this week or next depending on how many interruptions we have this week.
NOV 26TH IS C DAY

On another note, the Christmas Holiday is quickly approaching.

I WOULD LOVE IT IF YOU COULD COME IN- read a story, make an ornament, help decorate our tree, or if you really want- help mark PAPERS :) hehehe...
I hope to start writing a Christmas Song-The 12 Days of Bacon Christmas,12 days of Mrs Benson's Bunch, It's Beginning to look a lot like a Benson's Bunch of Christmas... You get the idea.
If you have an idea COMMENT below and we can vote on the best one and start writing ASAP.
As always, thank you for being you, showing up for conferences, and taking great care of our KIDDOS.
I hope to see you for our Christmas Projects.
XOXO

Wanted to remind you all there is no lunch service tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please pack a lunch because our kiddos are a hungry BUNCH. They need a snack by 11 to keep themselves going. So needless to say not having lunch will be a total disaster!
The school is buying Philly Pretzels but I don't think that's enough. They are a HUNGRY BUNCH!
Did I mention they get hungry?
Also please don't forget your conference. Thank you to all who have shown up, I have photos of the holiday project coming soon :) Some are still trickling in and when I have them all ill post the photos. Thanks for your help on the projects too! They are all awesome!!!!!!!!!

It's TURKEY TIME!!!

It's Turkey Time at Bacon School :) Gobble Gobble

Today is our annual Turkey Feast, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for all your contributions to this special day.  We also have the Scholastic Book Fair in the Library during conferences and Library time at school.  If you are struggling with money let me know and I will do everything I can to get books for everyone.

I'll post some pics soon of our special meal together. We made some goofy glasses to be festive.
We have a lot to be thankful for this year, our children, our jobs, our families, and every blessing that has come our way.  I am blessed and thankful for my class, and all the support their families give me everyday.  I am thankful for my family-Zach, Emily, Sam, and Sara, as well as my parents, grandparents, in-laws, and my Sister, Brother in law, and Nephews.  I am also thankful for my best friends Mrs. Sinone and Erin McCusker.  Without all these people in my life I would not be the woman I am today.

Please take some time and talk with your kiddos about what they are thankful for. I look forward to seeing all of you at conferences, teaching your kiddos about the origins of Thanksgiving-I have some awesome stuff ready-and doing some fun stuff (as always)
If you would like to come in and read or hang out with us, take some photos, run a center, let me know in an email- mrsbensonsbunch@gmail.com- I would love to see you and so would your KIDDO!
With much gratitude and thanks,
becky benson

Harder books to boost reading levels ;)

Hi everyone! Pics of the kiddos coming soon as well as videos.
I wanted to tell you today we celebrated Veterans Day by reading about the origins of the holiday, making cards for Master Chief Young (my Grandpop) and doing some comprehension activities. While we were reading I noticed quite a few readers struggling with third grade words. So, being the teacher type(hahaha) I decided to involve you in some reading this week. The books I assigned are HARDER than usual, I would like for you to read to the kiddos, then help them read or read at the same time. Most words should be read with ease, others may need to be tapped out(like foundations in K-2)
Math today was great! They really are getting place value and regrouping :) love it when Math goes well!!!!
So- we also need Volunteers for the Scholastic Book Fair, and donations of food for the Thanksgiving Day Feast on Thursday.
Our Holiday Projects are due Nov 19th please hand it in on time to present to the class, goodies are welcome!!!
Let me know if you can come in to read.
I am totally looking forward to seeing you all at Conferences :)
WOW that was a lot of info!!! Email me if you need anything and to come in to help or read with us.
As always Thank you for your support and kindness, and can you believe it's almost Thanksgiving!!!!
